Was Alexander Hamilton Gay? Was Mr.Hamilton gay for John Laurens? This has been a raising question among historians and all people alike. Though it is a question unsolved there is plenty of evidence proving Alexander’s love for John. At the very least I do think Alexander was bi.  A quote, from his letter to John laurens from 1779 states,”Cold in my professions, warm in my friendships, I wish, my Dear Laurens, it might be in my power, by action rather than words, to convince you that I love you… You should not have taken advantage of my sensibility to steal into my affections without my consent. But as you have done it and as we are generally indulgent to those we love, I shall not scruple to pardon the fraud you have committed.”  Thus this is proving his love was hidden with a pen and paper. I do think they had an affair. That is why Alexander’s son had to burn a lot of letters between Alexander and John. He was scared people would make fun of his father and John’s legacy with one another and in general. Though there is evidence for it this question will remain unsolved.
