Closing up on another successful week for Waltham sports! With many sports coming to a close, we congratulate our teams on an amazing season, and wish luck to the teams leading up to their final games.
Boys Soccer:
The boys soccer team ended their season with two games on Monday the 28th and Tuesday the 29th! Unfortunately the boys didn’t make it to the tournament this year but it is important to recognize the hard work and dedication from the boys throughout the season. Two goals were scored in the last two games by Senior, Jayden Sanon and Junior, Edwin Gudiel with an assist by Junior, Charlie Destin.
Girls Soccer:
The Lady Hawks played their last game against Burlington on October 28th. The score was 2-1 securing a win with goals from Sophomore, Dylan Remage Healey and Freshman, Vanessa Kielb. The hard hat for the final game went to Junior, Quinn Gavin, for hard-work in net defending the teams lead.
Football:
The football team most recently went up against Bedford last Friday, November 1st. The result of that game was 35-13 Bedford. Go support the team by coming out to watch as they play their final games. Waltham’s varsity football team will have their last game on Thanksgiving against Arlington at 10 AM, be sure to come check it out!
Field Hockey:
The field hockey team plays seed #12 Natick High School in their first playoff game tonight (11/4) at 5 PM! The winner of this game moves on further into the playoffs. Feel free to go and support the team tonight in Natick and wish them luck!
Cross Country:
Both the boys team and the girls team hung up their sneakers this past Saturday November 2nd at the Wrentham Invitational. Junior Laura Shepard placed in the Junior Girls 5k earning 9th place out of 70+ girls and securing a medal! The Seniors recognized this season included Sofia Alfeo, Capt.
