Thanksgiving is over, now it’s almost Christmas, the most wonderful time of the year. A time for snow, decorations, and of course Christmas movies. There are so many great Christmas movies, but only a couple have gained the title of all time favorites.

Each person has their own opinion about what the best Christmas movie is. This article will tell you our opinions and some of those we interviewed.  

Stephanie: I’ve watched a LOT of Christmas movies throughout the years, but nothing compares to Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town. No, maybe it’s not the most popular opinion; but I have such good memories from when I was little, turning on the tv with my parents and seeing little clay-mation Rudolph jumping across the screen. I can honestly say that I don’t have a least favorite Christmas movie.  Sure, there are some I’m not a fan of, but none really stick out in my mind.

Jane: My all time favorite Christmas movie is How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Suess. Jim Carrey improvised a lot of the movie which led to a lot of funny parts. I can’t help but laughing whenever I watch it. I could watch that movie on repeat from November 1st to Christmas. My least favorite Christmas movie is A Christmas Story. I do not like the movie because the movie is kind of boring and there’s not really a Christmas message. The movie felt really long and I just overall did not enjoy it.

Grace: My favorite Christmas movie is Daddy’s Home 2. Although it’s not a classic it is a must watch for me every christmas season. The movie is comedic and has a sweet message of the meaning of family. The movie also represents mixed families, families of divorces, and the complications of those relationships. The christmas movie I hate the most is A Christmas Story, the story is not very happy, I do not find it funny, and it feels like such a long movie. The movie is dragged out with so many unnecessary plots. I feel like it is not a good Christmas movie, in my opinion. The movie is forgettable and does not compare to other movies. 

One of the most voted for Christmas movies was Elf. It was extremely popular among the student body. We believe it was voted as the favorite because it’s a heartwarming story, and wonderful to watch around christmas time. It’s the go to christmas movie for a party and one the most well known.  

The movie that was voted as most hated was the Polar Express. We believe that many people voted it as their least favorite because it is often over played during the holiday season and can put people off. The animation makes the characters more creepy than heartwarming.
