What is the true meaning of Christmas? Well, depending on who you ask, the answers may vary. Some might say it’s to spend time with family. Others argue it’s the birth of Jesus. Or just about receiving presents; there isn’t one real answer, it just matters what it means to you. According to the movie “Elf”, the true meaning of Christmas is the Christmas spirit. This is an interesting and unusual way of thinking about Christmas. “The Grinch” is about sharing your heart in order to help others. These movies are perfect examples of different true meanings of Christmas.

 We asked a few people and got various answers, according to Stephanie, “The true meaning of Christmas is giving, being selfless”. When Grace was asked she said, “getting together and gifting.” Jane said “family”. Finally, we had to get Ms. Basinger’s perspective on this and she told us, “Christ and the celebration of Christ and recognizing the fact that we all share a commonality as humans and to celebrate that.” The beauty of Christmas is that it depends on who you’re talking to. If you ask multiple people you will most likely get similar answers but not the same. Christmas is a universal holiday and has multiple meanings. It can be religious, a gathering, or a celebration.
